Drawing on a rich background in digital motion design for television and film, Kathryn brings a masterful understanding of colour, composition, and form to her abstract oil paintings.

Her creative journey begins digitally, using Photoshop to layer colours, light, and imagery into initial compositions. Once she moves to canvas, however, the work evolves organically, allowing intuition and texture to guide the process.

Kathryn's paintings are built in vibrant layers of oil — scraped, poured, and glazed — creating a sense of depth, movement, and luminosity. Her work delicately balances abstraction and realism, often anchored by a subtle horizon line, inviting the viewer into imagined landscapes.

"I want people to want to touch my paintings," says Kathryn — and indeed, her canvases are deeply tactile experiences.

Through texture, transparency, and bold colour, her work offers a dynamic, ever-changing visual journey where rough meets smooth, and gentle meets bold. Every painting invites the viewer to step into the sensation of a place, where light and colour are in constant dialogue.

Commissions
Kathryn welcomes private commissions.
Following an initial conversation about size, style, colour palette, and mood, she provides a preliminary A4-sized sketch for approval. Once the concept is agreed upon, the full canvas begins. Clients are kept closely involved throughout the process to ensure the final piece resonates deeply.
Prices are based on canvas size. A 50% deposit is requested at the sketch stage, with the balance payable upon completion and satisfaction.
